Working with Shine Food Machinery, Make By Design completed works to the new Woodsman Bar and Restaurant in the refurbished 16th Century Falcon Hotel now run by Hotel Indigo.

 

The challenge was set working on this particular project where the worktops to the new and republished bars had to be 100mm thick, 600mm wide live edge solid European Oak. We spent a great deal of time working with our timber suppliers in sourcing the oak for the project, with the final result being supplied from Scotland. The air dried oak required a dyed epoxy resin finish to fill the cracks and features in the worktops in order to make them food safe. The three bars delivered in the restaurant had a combination of Egger Perfect Sense cabinetry, T&G sprayed cladding finishes and traditional oak framed panelling.

 

For the Woodsman restaurant we also supply and installed a Neolith Iron Grey chefs working surface and pass counter which looked extremely impressive.

 

The cocktail bar features carcassing manufactured from Egger Perfect Sense with sprayed MDF and tulip fielded panelling and zinc worktops. The rear bar is clad with antique mirror glass, all supplied and installed by ourselves.

Works were successfully completed and handed over in April 2019.
