Working with Shine Food Machinery, Make By Design completed works to the new café at the Emily Gardens for the newly refurbished Hadspen House Estate in Castle Cary, Somerset.

 

We designed and delivered the bar and hot and cold pass counters, all of which were manufactured from MDF with laser cut and powder coated mild steel panelling, front panels and 30mm thick bullnose edged granite worktops. All supplied and installed by us.

 

We also carried out works to manufacture and install a bespoke bakery table, made entirely from European solid oak complete with a solid granite worktop.

 

The Newt is owned by South African businessman Koos Bekker and his wife Karen Roos, who bought the Grade I-Listed, 17th-century house set on the Emily Estate from the Hobhouse family in 2013.

 

Together they own Babylonstoren, a preserved Cape Dutch farm estate in the Drakenstein valley, South Africa, with a hotel, spa, restaurant, winery and renowned gardens - a visit to the estate is well recommended!

 

Works were successfully completed and handed over in April 2019.
